The MHA Nation Tribal Business Council has approved Resolution No. 21-068-FWF which authorizes a one-time payment of
$1,000.00 disbursement to each eligible MHA Nation Tribal member enrolled as of 4/8/2021.
This disbursement, per the Resolution, will be mailed out no later than 4/30/2021 to all members 14 years old and above.
Enrolled members under the age of 14, will be required to have their legal guardian fill out the
April 2021—Resolution No. 21-068-FWF Minor Disbursement Form. Minor disbursements will be for the full amount of $1,000.
Enrolled members under the age of 14, that do not have a completed
April 2021—Resolution No. 21-068-FWF Minor Disbursement Form returned to the
People’s Fund Department by August 1st, 2021, will have the disbursement held in the pooled fund account until the age of 18.
Enrolled members under the age of 14, in the custody of the Three Affiliated Tribes Social Services and under the Indian Child Welfare Act shall have their disbursement held in Trust until the age of 18.
Any delinquent monies owed to the Three Affiliated Tribes Division of Child Support Enforcement, Travel, Small Loans, Home Mortgage, Business Loans, Tribal Court and Ree Lodge Management shall be deducted at a rate of $750.00 (see below for contact info).

MHA Nation breaks ground on greenhouse project
PARSHALL – The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation (MHA Nation) were scheduled to hold a groundbreaking ceremony today for Native Green Grow (NG2), a greenhouse project near Parshall.
Self-contained, climate-controlled greenhouses will grow vegetable produce from heat and electricity generated by converting captured gas from oil wells that is currently being flared, as well as, utilizing electricity from our dedicated WAPA allocation.
NG2 is a food sovereignty initiative that creates environmental stewardship by reducing the amount of flared gas on Fort Berthold while creating a stable food system and economy for our nation by growing our own healthy, accessible and fresh food.
“It’s one of the keys to ensuring that we survive, to ensuring our Nation will go into the future, growing our own crops, generating our own power, maximizing our water sources, and creating products to export so that when times do get rough, we’ve got a system in place that can really survive any difficulties that might lie ahead,” said Chairman Mark Fox.
The project site will utilize a substantial portion of a 38-acre tract set aside for economic development and the final buildout and construction is set to begin this spring.
Other aspects of the project include an administration building with an educational classroom, a heating plant, and storefront sales that will include an area for a seasonal farmer’s market.
The project site is along Highway 23 between the Healing Horse Ranch and the Parshall intersection.

Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College awarded AT&T Braiding Success Grant
New Town, ND -- Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College (NHSC) was recently awarded an AT&T Braiding Success grant from the American Indian College Fund (AICF). The Braiding Success program was developed to assist tribal colleges and universities in connecting students with employers and promotes culturally responsive career planning. The program incorporates traditional knowledge and ways into coaching students for their future careers.
Deanna Rainbow, NHS College Student Success Retention Counselor, and Dr. Jen Janecek-Hartman, VP of Campus Services, coordinate the program. The grant is designed to offer an additional boost to dual-credit programs, which allow students to take courses that can be used for both high school and college credit.
“This program is designed to benefit dual-credit students by offering hands-on workshops, assistance with financial aid forms and academic/career advisement. The end result is a more seamless transfer from high school to NHS College,” said Rainbow.
NHSC enhances the quality of life and builds a strong, positive identity for the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nations or Three Affiliated Tribes. NHSC offers in-demand certificate programs and associate degrees as well as three bachelor’s degrees. The college offers high-quality cultural, academic and vocational education. NHSC provides encouragement and support to facilitate successful college careers.
